Founded by writer/director Martin Guigui and Producer Dahlia Waingort in association with their partners at Sunset Pictures, First Time Film Festival is the premier showcase for independent filmmakers who have cracked that elusive nut by getting their first feature film made and are now in need of the next step....exposure.
The experience of that first miracle is like no other and we found that there is no school, institution, workshop, festival or book that walks you through the real trials and tribulations encountered when getting that first one made and then wandering into the marketplace trying to sell it, distribute it and hopefully parlay that experience into a career, or potentially, certainly even a second film.
Through our high profile panel discussions and screenings, The First Time Film Festival will take filmmakers on a step-by-step journey into the intricate business and complete creative process of filmmaking from conception and execution to marketing and distribution. Passing on the knowledge which is so hard to find, culminating in a rare visit on closing night by an established director, screening their first film, and hearing their story of how they got there. There is no greater experience than hearing and seeing it first hand immersed within the everlasting Hollywood cinema machine and those who turn it. |
